Process Engineer

About the role

Armstrong Fluid Technology, a global manufacturer of fluid-flow technology with over 1,400 colleagues and eight manufacturing facilities, is looking for a Process Engineer based in Droitwich Spa. The role reports to the Engineering Lead EMEA and focuses on developing, implementing and maintaining manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, working with design, quality and production teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing processes with a focus on Design for Manufacture & Assembly (DFMA), and run PFMEAs to identify and mitigate process risks
• Design streamlined process flows and layouts, and analyse workflows for standardisation and continuous improvement
• Create standardised work instructions and best practices, and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations
• Set up quality control systems, deploy the 8D root cause analysis method, and manage the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process
• Specify and oversee installation of new equipment, investigate new tooling and fixtures, and apply lean and modular build strategies
• Apply Lean Six Sigma, analyse build costs, and work with procurement and supply chain to reduce waste
• Maintain process documentation (work instructions, SOPs, control plans, flow diagrams) and report manufacturing performance

Required profile

• Substantial experience in manufacturing or process engineering, ideally in process plant or HVAC
• Experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement in low-volume, high-value production
• Ability to develop visual standards, SOPs and training programmes
• Proven ability to manage BOM structures, routing systems and NCRs
