Procurement Manager

About the role

Starling is looking for a Procurement Manager to join the Finance team’s Vendor function. Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will act as a trusted advisor, shaping how the bank purchases, negotiates and manages key partnerships across technology, operations and people services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end procurement for complex, high‑value contracts in technology, data, operational services and people categories.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies that generate market competition, cost savings and added value.
• Build and maintain commercial models from supplier quotes to identify negotiation opportunities.
• Own contract renewals, ensuring proactive planning and clear commercial plans.
• Negotiate contract terms, pricing, SLAs and exit provisions that protect the business.
• Manage post‑contract performance against SLAs, hold regular MI meetings with strategic suppliers and drive optimisation.
• Gather and document project requirements to support clear contracting and sign‑off.
• Maintain up‑to‑date procurement workflows in the contract management system.
• Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders and act as escalation point for vendor issues.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing high‑value procurement processes in a fast‑moving, technology‑focused environment.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering cost savings and value creation.
• Ability to develop sourcing strategies and commercial models to support negotiation.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented approach to contract renewals, negotiations and workflow maintenance.
