Procurement Officer – 6‑month contract (Hybrid)

About the role

We are looking for a Procurement Officer to join our Delivery Team at STAR Procurement for a six‑month contract. The role is hybrid, supporting public‑sector procurement across Greater Manchester while offering a structured learning pathway towards CIPS qualifications.

Key responsibilities

• Support delivery and improvement of public service reform and growth initiatives.
• Contribute to best‑practice procurement processes that generate value and social impact.
• Prepare tender documentation and manage procurement projects using our e‑tendering platform.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth contract execution.
• Assist with audits and continuous improvement of procurement procedures.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in a procurement role within the public sector or a similar environment.
• Familiarity with procurement legislation, regulations and best practices.
• Strong organisational and planning abilities with the capacity to handle multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
• Willingness to work towards or already hold CIPS qualifications (Level 4‑6).

• Experience using contract management systems.
