Procurement Officer – Methil

About the role

Navantia UK is seeking a Procurement Officer to join its expanding team in Methil. You will manage the full procurement cycle, ensuring the right subcontractors, services and goods are secured at the best value while maintaining compliance and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end procurement for subcontracted works, services and goods.
• Prepare and issue RFPs, RFQs and contracts.
• Assess subcontractor proposals, capabilities and performance.
• Lead negotiations to obtain competitive pricing and robust contractual terms.
• Monitor contract delivery, performance and compliance.
• Maintain accurate procurement records for reporting and audit purposes.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategy with project objectives.
• Conduct market research, identify new suppliers/partners and benchmark pricing trends.
• Support colleagues on procurement policies, processes and best practices.
• Identify and manage supplier‑related risks, including financial, operational and compliance factors.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement, preferably within subcontracting or services procurement.
• Strong understanding of procurement principles, contract management and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and build positive relationships.
• Highly organised, detail‑focused and able to manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• SAP (experience is a plus)
