Production Operative – Food Manufacturing (Temp to Perm)

About the role

Join a leading food manufacturing company in Widnes as a Production Operative. This temporary‑to‑permanent position involves working on a modern line that produces dry cured and tank cured bacon and gammon for wholesalers and butchers across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Operate production machinery safely and efficiently.
• Pack and label finished products according to specifications.
• Maintain strict food hygiene standards throughout the shift.
• Perform clean‑down and hygiene duties at the end of each shift.
• Carry out quality checks to ensure product compliance.
• Assist with timely dispatch of products to meet delivery schedules.

Required profile

• Experience of manual handling and health & safety awareness.
• Good communication skills and a proactive, hands‑on attitude.
• Previous experience in a production environment, preferably food manufacturing.
• Understanding of food hygiene regulations.
• Experience operating a forklift truck (FLT) is advantageous.
