Production Scientist – Reproductive Tissue Procurement

About the role

The Production Scientist will join the SNBTS TCAT Directorate, supporting the Reproductive Tissue Procurement & Processing workstream. You will be involved in GMP‑controlled retrieval and production of a wide range of tissues and cells from both living and deceased donors at the Jack Copland Centre.

Key responsibilities

• Perform GMP‑compliant retrieval, processing and production of tissues and cells.
• Support the Reproductive Tissue Procurement & Processing workstream.
• Maintain documentation and quality records in line with regulatory standards.
• Participate in an on‑call rota as required.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective product delivery.

Required profile

• Honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific discipline.
• Demonstrable experience in GMP manufacture of tissue and/or cellular therapy products.
• Eligibility to work and reside in the UK.
• Willingness to undergo a Disclosure Scotland check and, if applicable, an overseas criminal record check.
