Programme Director – Active SC, NPPV3

About the role

The client, a well‑known consultancy, is seeking a Programme Director to lead complex supplier exit and service transition programmes for a public‑sector end client. This short‑term contract (initially 3 months) offers up to £920 per day and can be performed primarily remotely, with occasional presence in London.

Key responsibilities

• Lead insourcing, supplier exit, service mobilisation and transition programmes in a regulated, mission‑critical environment.
• Ensure continuity, knowledge transfer and rapid stabilisation of services during handover.
• Identify, assess and mitigate risks related to service continuity, knowledge loss and governance.
• Develop and deliver fundable work packages such as readiness assessments, exit assurance and stabilisation plans.
• Collaborate across programme teams, service operations, architecture, commercial and supplier stakeholders to maintain governance discipline.
• Capture and transfer explicit and tacit knowledge to support long‑term operational improvement.

Required profile

• Programme‑director level experience delivering complex transition programmes in large, regulated or mission‑critical settings.
• Active Security Clearance (SC) and ideally NPPV3 clearance.
• Proven ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, influencing and guiding decision‑making in high‑risk engagements.
• Strong capability in transition readiness, supplier handover, operational readiness and post‑transition stabilisation.
