Project Buyer

About the role

Join Trant Engineering and help shape the delivery of complex, high‑impact projects. Trant Engineering is a leading EPC contractor with a strong reputation for innovative engineering solutions across the UK and internationally, and is now seeking an experienced Project Buyer to support its project delivery teams.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and control project procurement plans, prioritise requisitions and ensure timely placement of purchase orders for materials, plant and equipment.
• Source suppliers, evaluate proposals, negotiate commercial terms and manage quotations within delegated authority.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers and site teams to understand project needs, schedules and risks, and provide procurement advice.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, contract requirements and audit standards, and maintain accurate procurement records.

Required profile

• Relevant technical, engineering or business qualification (degree, HND or equivalent experience).
• Proven procurement or project buying experience in engineering, construction, water or energy sectors.
• Strong communication, negotiation and organisational skills with an understanding of project schedules and supplier management.
• Desirable: CIPS qualification or working towards, experience within regulated utility frameworks.
