Project Manager – Charging Hubs

About the role

Charging hubs are Ember's key growth enabler, providing ultra‑fast charge points and serving as bases for the fleet. You will join a small team, initially supporting live sites and quickly moving to run your own sites end‑to‑end.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure suitable sites for charging hubs by scouting industrial estates, brownfield plots and engaging with commercial agents, local authorities and landlords.
• Negotiate leases, oversee design, manage planning applications and secure power connections with network operators.
• Coordinate with suppliers, solicitors, architects and engineers to procure, install and commission charging equipment.
• Maintain a hands‑on presence on‑site, addressing construction details and ensuring quality throughout the build.
• After sites go live, continuously refine and improve them across the network.

Required profile

• Curious and quick to learn, comfortable navigating new technical specs, legal terms and planning processes.
• Engineering mindset, eager to understand concrete reinforcement, three‑phase distribution and substation transformers.
• First‑principles thinker who asks critical questions and collaborates effectively with experts.
• Highly organised with strong inbox management to handle multiple project pipelines.
• Comfortable using AI tools to accelerate learning and document drafting.
• Hands‑on attitude, willing to meet landlords, electricians and inspect site details.
