Project Manager – Defence Public Sector (12‑month contract)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a high‑visibility programme for a public‑sector client within the defence arena. The position is based in Corsham and requires four days a week on‑site for an initial twelve‑month contract.

Key responsibilities

• Drive projects from initiation through delivery, ensuring adherence to planning, controls and governance frameworks.
• Manage budgets, resources, risks and benefits realisation, producing and maintaining RAID logs.
• Develop Outline Business Cases and Full Business Cases (OBC/BC) and oversee their approval.
• Coordinate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, maintaining effective relationships.
• Monitor project schedules, conduct regular reviews and produce governance documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing complex projects in a regulated or defence environment.
• Hands‑on experience with OBC and Full Business Case development.
• Strong stakeholder management across large, varied audiences.
• Ability to manage budgets, resources and risk registers (RAID).
• Entry‑level project delivery qualification (e.g., APM Project Fundamentals, MSP Foundation or equivalent).
