Property Surveyor

About the role

We are recruiting an experienced Property Surveyor to join a leading social housing provider on a one‑year fixed‑term contract. Reporting to the Head of Asset Investment and Programmes, you will support major works and cyclical programmes while ensuring resident satisfaction and value for money.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out detailed stock condition surveys and property inspections using the group’s asset management software and produce reports for the Asset Investment Delivery Programme.
• Develop and manage delivery of major works, planned and cyclical programmes, including preparing specifications, tender documentation and overseeing on‑site works.
• Manage contracts, contract instructions, variations and valuation statements, and coordinate consultants and employer’s agents.
• Ensure compliance with building safety, statutory and regulatory obligations.
• Collaborate with the Head of Asset Investment, Asset Manager and Head of Property to refine the 5‑year Asset Investment Delivery Plan.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a similar building surveyor role, ideally within social housing.
• Strong knowledge of planned works and major works programmes.
• Recognised professional qualification in building construction.
• Thorough understanding of major works and cyclical programmes.
• Budget and project management skills.
