Psychologist – Specialist Day School (Walsall)

About the role

The Witherslack Group is seeking a qualified Psychologist to join the multidisciplinary team at Bescot Hall School, an independent specialist day school in Walsall. You will work directly with young people who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder and related challenges, providing therapeutic support that enhances both learning and living environments.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct clinical assessments and formulate individualized intervention plans for pupils.
• Deliver one‑to‑one and group therapeutic sessions tailored to developmental trauma and neuro‑developmental conditions.
• Collaborate with educational and residential staff to embed therapeutic approaches throughout the school setting.
• Provide consultation, workshops, and training for teachers and residential teams.
• Maintain accurate case records and contribute to multidisciplinary case reviews.

Required profile

• Qualified Psychologist (e.g., BPS chartered status) with experience working with children and young people.
• Demonstrated ability to work within a SEND or specialist education environment.
• Strong communication skills to liaise with staff, families, and external agencies.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment and formulation.
• Design and delivery of therapeutic interventions for SEMH, ADHD, and ASD.
