About the role

Vida Education is seeking qualified secondary teachers to provide high‑quality, reliable teaching cover across schools in Kendal and the wider Cumbria area. The role offers flexible, day‑to‑day assignments as well as short‑term and long‑term placements, with the potential to progress to permanent positions.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across a range of secondary subjects.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and assessment outcomes.
• Manage classroom behaviour and create a safe learning environment.
• Collaborate with school staff to support curriculum objectives.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (QTLS).
• Experience teaching in UK secondary schools (including ECTs or returning teachers).
• Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong classroom management and a passion for supporting young people.

Required skills

• Effective lesson planning and delivery.
• Assessment and data‑recording proficiency.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods for varied ability levels.
