Qualified SEN Outreach Tutor (Part‑time, Temporary)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is looking for a qualified SEN Outreach Tutor to deliver one‑to‑one tuition for learners with special educational needs who cannot attend mainstream schools in Bromley and surrounding areas. The role is part‑time and temporary, offering flexible hours to support students in English, Maths and Science, helping them close learning gaps and build confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver personalised lessons in English, Mathematics and Science for each student.
• Assess progress regularly and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
• Provide a supportive, patient environment for learners with SEN, social‑emotional or mental‑health challenges.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress and any safeguarding concerns.
• Collaborate with parents, carers and external professionals as required.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE.
• Minimum six months of UK teaching or tutoring experience.
• Experience working with SEN students.
• Right to work in the UK and willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
• Two recent child‑related references.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of the English, Maths and Science curricula.
• Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learning needs.
• Effective classroom management and safeguarding awareness.
