Quality Lead – Renewable Energy Projects

About the role

SSE Renewables is seeking a Quality Lead to support the delivery of major renewable energy projects. You will champion high‑quality standards across development and construction phases, working within ISO9000 guidelines and the company’s governance framework.

Key responsibilities

• Provide quality support throughout all project stages, including governance and technical requirements.
• Implement and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) processes, ensuring consistent application of standards.
• Coordinate inspections, audits, and reporting; manage non‑conformances, defects and remedial actions.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors and international teams to report quality performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Support site and manufacturing inspections, supplying procedures, documentation and equipment.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering QA/QC on large construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems, auditing processes and documentation for capital projects.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management across multidisciplinary, international teams.
• Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification with relevant industry experience.
• Proactive safety mindset and continuous‑improvement approach; offshore renewables or oil & gas experience is a plus.
