Quality Manager – Aerospace & Defence Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead our aerospace and defence manufacturing operations in Southend‑on‑Sea. You will act as the company’s management representative for all quality matters, overseeing inspection, testing and certification activities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain quality control throughout the manufacturing process in line with customer and business standards.
• Manage calibration, testing, qualification and related approvals for all equipment.
• Oversee inspection and verification of parts at every production stage.
• Lead the inspection team, ensuring timely release of components and compliance with ISO 9100/AS9100.
• Plan and conduct internal and external audits to ISO 9100, AS9100 and EASA standards.
• Develop and approve FAIR/LAIR documentation and VisualFAIR software training.
• Drive continuous improvement, identify training needs and manage daily workload for the team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in aerospace quality management.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• First Article Inspection (FAIR/LAIR) experience.
• Qualified to conduct internal and external audits.
• Strong initiative, time‑management and attention to detail.
