Quality Manager – Aerospace (Kent/Essex Border)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead our aerospace quality function on the Kent/Essex border. The role involves overseeing the Quality Management System, managing inspection teams and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, monitor and improve the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9100/AS9100 and EASA requirements.
• Lead the Inspection team (2 staff) and act as the company’s management representative for all quality matters.
• Plan and conduct internal and external audits, and approve First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) and Last Article Inspection Reports (LAIR).
• Oversee calibration, testing, qualification and approval processes for manufacturing equipment and parts.
• Support subcontractor quote reviews, FAIR completion and audit follow‑up while balancing changing priorities.

Required profile

• Solid experience in the aerospace sector with recent First Article Inspection experience.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong attendance, punctuality and time‑management skills.
• Experience of OASIS and working to ISO 9100/AS9100 standards.
• Some line‑management or team‑leadership experience.
