Quality Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join a well‑established engineering and manufacturing business in Surrey. This position offers the opportunity to take full ownership of the company’s Quality Management System, lead audits, and drive continuous improvement across all manufacturing functions.

Key responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and other relevant standards.
• Plan, prepare and lead internal and external quality audits, including Management Review meetings.
• Ensure manufacturing processes meet quality standards, customer requirements and legislative obligations.
• Maintain external accreditations and certifications, such as ISO 9001.
• Review, update and promote quality procedures across all departments.
• Oversee inspection of incoming materials, work‑in‑progress and finished products.
• Lead investigations of non‑conformances, perform root‑cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate external certification audits and manage calibration schedules for inspection equipment.
• Develop and maintain supplier quality standards and manage approved supplier processes.
• Monitor customer feedback and identify opportunities for product quality improvement.
• Conduct internal audits, support document control, engineering change management and drawing revisions.
• Promote quality awareness through coaching, training and collaboration.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Quality Manager or Senior Quality Engineer in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
• Proven experience leading internal and external audits.
• Knowledge of root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience managing non‑conformance and corrective‑action processes.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
