Quantity Surveyor Manager – Refresh & Food Service Projects

About the role

The Commercial Team within Asda Property Construction is seeking a Quantity Surveyor Manager to lead the commercial delivery of refresh, food service and trading projects. You will ensure strong cost governance, value for money and risk management across a portfolio of new builds, refits and capital investment programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of internal Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Analysts.
• Oversee cost planning, budgeting and feasibility studies for all projects.
• Ensure compliance with Asda commercial governance, audit requirements and contract frameworks.
• Manage procurement strategies and supplier performance in partnership with the Procurement function.
• Provide programme‑level commercial reporting and insight to senior stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement and standardisation of commercial tools and processes.
• Act as the primary commercial partner to Project Managers, Construction Managers, Finance and external supply‑chain leaders.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in a commercial or quantity surveying role within construction.
• Strong stakeholder influence and ability to manage complex commercial outcomes across multiple projects.
• Collaborative, values‑driven work ethic aligned to Asda ways of working.
• Experience delivering cost‑controlled projects in a retail or property environment.
