Quantity Surveyor – Residential Development – Surrey

About the role

We are partnering with one of the UK’s leading residential developers to recruit an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor for their Regional Commercial team in Surrey. The role will support two flagship private house‑building schemes, overseeing commercial activities from inception to final account.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with procurement, scheduling and quantifying of materials and labour.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Manage subcontractor orders, valuations, variations and payments.
• Support work‑in‑progress, cost‑to‑complete and cash‑flow forecasting.
• Monitor, control and report cost movements across live developments.
• Maintain development budgets within COINS and Bills of Quantities.
• Undertake monthly site valuations and attend site meetings.
• Assist with project budgets and support Business Unit approvals.
• Liaise with internal departments to ensure commercial efficiency and project viability.

Required profile

• Experience managing multiple house‑building sites commercially.
• Background with a medium to large housebuilder.
• Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder management.
• Good knowledge of Building Regulations, NHBC standards and Health & Safety.
• Fully IT literate with at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
