Ratings and Research Support Summer Intern - Financial Institutions Group

About the role

Moody's is offering a 10-week full-time summer internship in its Ratings and Research Support (RRS) programme within the Financial Institutions Group, based in London. The role reports to a Team Manager and gives students a comprehensive view of Moody's business and culture, with networking, mentorship, a leadership speaker series and volunteer events. Successful interns may be considered for a Ratings Associate position after graduation.

Key responsibilities

• Support analytical teams on projects and day-to-day work, including case studies that build analytical understanding
• Work on analytical, research, data and process-related projects
• Collect data and identify trends to support credit conclusions
• Prepare financial documents, charts and presentations
• Monitor media outlets for news related to special projects or portfolios
• Provide analytical and research support to the rating teams
• Contribute to the creation of high-quality research publications

Required profile

• Student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree (preferred) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics or another quantitative field
• Graduation between December 2027 and June 2028
• Ability to work full-time during the programme dates, 14 June to 20 August 2027
• Good understanding of the key concepts and drivers of banking and insurance
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently, adapt to change and prioritise tasks
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Additional fluency in a European language (French, Italian, German or Spanish) is preferred

Required skills

• Accounting or statistics background (e.g. coursework, CFA or equivalent)
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Familiarity with programming languages is a plus
• Basic understanding of AI concepts and interest in responsible AI practices
