Real Estate Investment Director

About the role

The Real Estate Investment Director is a hands‑on senior position responsible for the active management of an international portfolio of real‑estate assets. You will oversee the full asset‑management lifecycle, from acquisition through disposal, and work closely with cross‑functional teams across technical, financial, legal and administrative domains.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee performance of a portfolio of international real‑estate assets in line with Investment Committee objectives.
• Manage assets directly and through local asset‑management teams, ensuring clear accountability.
• Set, monitor and report on asset‑level business plans, KPIs and financial targets.
• Lead asset disposals, major capex decisions and coordinate investment committee presentations.
• Source, evaluate and underwrite new investment opportunities.
• Oversee property and facility management, engage technical consultants and ensure regulatory compliance across jurisdictions.
• Monitor income, expenditure and cash‑flow; prepare annual accounts, tax and VAT returns.
• Coordinate budgeting, forecasting and investor reporting with finance teams.
• Navigate complex lease structures, ownership vehicles and legal frameworks; manage external counsel.
• Maintain relationships with local teams, JV partners, lenders and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Significant experience in commercial real‑estate asset management with exposure to international markets.
• Proven ability to manage assets across multiple disciplines without reliance on a single specialist function.
• Strong understanding of international planning, legal and regulatory frameworks as they apply to real‑estate.
• Experience managing both in‑house and third‑party asset‑management structures.
• Financially literate with a track record of preparing accounts, tax and VAT filings.
