About the role
The Business Support Team at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a Receptionist/Clerical Officer to join the Administration and Clerical Team at Kirkintilloch Health & Care Centre. You will be the first point of contact for patients, visitors and staff, providing a professional and courteous service while supporting a range of community health teams.
Key responsibilities
- Welcome clients and members of the public, manage telephone enquiries and maintain confidentiality.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail, deliveries and supplies.
- Enter and update patient and service data using EMIS, with full training provided.
- Schedule, allocate and amend appointments both face‑to‑face and by phone.
- Maintain accurate client files, process discharges and manage records in line with GDPR.
- Control stock using the PECOS system and ensure supplies are replenished.
- Provide general typing, data input and administrative support to multiple teams as required.
Required profile
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to relate to a wide range of personalities and handle confidential information.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Willingness to undertake a minimum four‑week induction and training programme.
