Registered General Nurse – Maternity Leave Cover

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Registered General Nurse (RGN) to provide maternity‑leave cover at Tupwood Gate Nursing Home for a six‑month fixed‑term contract. You will work 44 hours per week across day, night and weekend shifts, delivering high‑quality care to our residents.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate, assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual patient care programmes.
• Manage medication, wound care and end‑of‑life care.
• Collaborate with external agencies such as GPs, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, and tissue‑viability nurses.
• Ensure patient care requirements are met promptly and report any ill health.
• Maintain risk assessments and care plans in line with NMC guidelines.
• Participate in the planning, delivery and evaluation of therapeutic interventions.

Required profile

• Qualified RGN with a current PIN number.
• Proven ability to maintain accurate documentation and conduct audits.
• Strong understanding of current nursing practices and a commitment to patient recovery.
• Compassionate, resilient and dedicated to supporting patient independence.
• Desirable: ability to deputise in a clinical lead role and interest in leadership, research and assessment.
