Registered Nurse – Acute Uro‑Gynaecology Ward

About the role

This full‑time position is for a Registered Nurse on Gate 34, a 38‑bed acute Uro‑Gynaecology ward at Pinderfields Hospital. The role involves caring for pre‑ and post‑operative patients as well as acute admissions, providing high‑quality nursing care in both urology and gynaecology.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care in line with Trust policies and NMC guidelines.
• Assess health needs of patients and families, contributing to care plans.
• Promote patient and carer independence through teaching and support.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to evaluate patient progress.
• Support professional development of team members and supervise junior staff.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a current NMC registration or a nursing graduate expected to register within 12 months.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of current nursing practice and research.
• Ability to work confidently within a team, demonstrating strong communication and listening skills.
• Commitment to personal and professional development.

Required skills

• Peripheral cannulation insertion and removal.
• Venepuncture.
• Catheter insertion and removal.
• Medication administration via multiple routes.
• Proficiency with hospital IT and information systems.
