Rent Arrears Recovery Lead – Hybrid (London)

About the role

The Rent Arrears Recovery Lead will head a team of Rent Arrears and Recovery & Enforcement Officers, driving income collection and reducing arrears across all tenancy types for Kingston Council. Working within the Shared Finance Service, Housing Income & Financial Inclusion Team, you will ensure a customer‑focused service while meeting statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a team of arrears recovery officers to achieve collection targets.
• Administer, collect and recover housing rent for Kingston Council.
• Provide advice and guidance to internal and external customers, ensuring their needs are met.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance service delivery and outcomes.
• Maintain regular communication with internal stakeholders to share information and foster collaboration.
• Stay up‑to‑date with relevant policy changes and legislation to ensure compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in rent arrears recovery or housing finance.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team and achieve performance targets.
• Strong understanding of housing rent regulations and statutory guidance.
• Excellent communication skills for internal stakeholder engagement.
• Commitment to continuous service improvement and customer focus.
