Repair & Maintenance Operative

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Repair & Maintenance Operative to join our client’s team in Wigan. This position starts on a temporary basis with the potential to become permanent, offering a great entry point for anyone eager to start a career in facilities maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out repairs and maintenance tasks following company guidelines.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure smooth operation of equipment and facilities.
• Maintain accurate records of completed work and report unresolved problems to supervisors.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and maintain a safe work environment.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and proactive problem‑solving.
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts (6 am‑2 pm or 2 pm‑10 pm).
