Research Manager

About the role

Legal 500 is seeking a Research Manager to lead the delivery of high‑quality, lawyer‑led coverage of the US legal market from our new Leeds office. The role combines people management, project oversight and stakeholder engagement, working closely with the US Editor, Research Director and commercial teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a team of research analysts, ensuring timely and accurate editorial output.
• Oversee research cycles, set priorities, and maintain rigorous quality standards.
• Build and nurture relationships with partner‑level lawyers and business‑development teams in leading law firms.
• Collaborate with senior editorial and commercial colleagues to identify priority markets.
• Coordinate with US‑based stakeholders, aligning work hours (11 am–7 pm) to support cross‑continental collaboration.

Required profile

• Proven people‑manager with strong communication and coaching abilities.
• Highly organised, proactive and results‑driven, able to juggle competing deadlines.
• Comfortable working independently and making confident decisions.
• Capable of building credibility with senior stakeholders across the legal sector.
