Research Scientist – Antibody Production & Automation

About the role

Join a global leader in biopharmaceutical research to develop antibody‑based therapeutics. You will design, implement and operate automated workflows and robotic systems for antibody and plasmid DNA production.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and operate automated workflows for antibody and pDNA production and sample processing.
• Perform small‑scale transient mammalian transfections and purify monoclonal antibodies using automated techniques.
• Troubleshoot purification and quality issues, interpret data and propose creative solutions to ensure high‑quality reagents.
• Lead and support the development, optimisation, and implementation of automated/robotic high‑throughput platforms for antibody expression and purification.
• Apply data analysis and visualisation tools to improve workflows and resolve bottlenecks.

Required profile

• PhD or BSc/MSc with significant post‑graduate experience.
• Proven industrial experience in mammalian cell culture (HEK, CHO) and antibody expression.

Required skills

• Mammalian cell culture (HEK, CHO).
• Antibody expression and purification platforms such as AKTA or high‑throughput technologies.
• Protein characterisation techniques (HPLC‑SEC, CE‑SDS, SDS‑PAGE, UV‑Vis).
• pDNA purification processes.
• Automation/robotics for laboratory workflows.
• Machine learning for data analysis and visualisation.
