Sales Engineer, Power Switching & Monitoring

About the role

This is a field‑based Sales Engineer position within a leading power solutions organisation. You will work closely with customers, sales teams and technical specialists to design and deliver electrical switching and monitoring solutions across the South West, South Region and Wales.

Key responsibilities

• Develop technical solutions that meet specific customer requirements for power switching and monitoring product ranges.
• Prepare accurate quotations, proposals and tender documentation in collaboration with internal teams.
• Represent the technical side at pre‑ and post‑tender meetings and project briefings.
• Support commissioning, training and hand‑over activities on customer sites.
• Provide expert technical support, including fault finding and troubleshooting.
• Maintain customer support records using CRM and technical support tools.
• Deliver product training to internal teams, system integrators and key stakeholders.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or HND in Electrical Engineering (preferred).
• Electrical trade qualification or equivalent technical experience.
• Proven experience in technical sales, applications engineering, commissioning or customer support.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power solutions, switchgear and monitoring technologies.
• Experience producing technical quotations, proposals and tender documentation.
• Ability to interpret customer requirements and develop appropriate solutions.
• Willingness to travel regularly across the South West, South Region and Wales.
