Scaffold Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Scaffold Design Engineer to join a growing design team, delivering high‑quality scaffold solutions for onshore and offshore projects across the UK. You will work closely with clients, site teams and internal stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient access designs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide scaffold design engineering services for offshore and onshore sites.
• Design complex, large‑scale access and load‑bearing scaffolds.
• Liaise with clients and site teams to develop, resolve, and deliver scaffold design requirements.
• Produce design drawings, calculations and technical details in line with standards, best practice and company procedures.
• Carry out onshore and offshore site surveys, delivering clear follow‑up reports and design actions.
• Ensure full compliance with internal processes, procedures and safety standards.
• Support the development and implementation of scaffold design workpacks.
• Promote innovative scaffold design services across the wider group.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, project teams and operational personnel.

Required profile

• Background in an engineering role (structural, civil, mechanical or similar).
• HND (or higher) in Structural, Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Sound understanding of structural mechanics and engineering principles.
• Desirable: experience in scaffold or temporary works design, practical knowledge of scaffold systems, BEng/MEng degree, experience with structural analysis software and 3D CAD modelling.
