School Business Manager (Temporary) – West Midlands

About the role
We are seeking a proactive School Business Manager to join a West Midlands school on a temporary, full‑time basis starting September 2026. You will oversee the non‑teaching, operational and commercial functions, ensuring the school runs smoothly and efficiently.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, monitor and forecast the school’s budget in line with strategic improvement plans.
- Manage procurement activities, including contracts, tenders and vendor negotiations to secure best value.
- Line‑manage, appraise and train non‑teaching support staff such as administration, catering and site teams.
- Oversee building repairs, maintenance contracts and ensure the security of the school premises.
- Administer day‑to‑day operational systems, including Management Information Systems (MIS) and data protection compliance (GDPR).
Required profile
- Willingness to work on a temporary basis, full‑time (08:00‑16:00).
- Ability to provide right‑to‑work documentation and register with the agency.
- Prepared to obtain an enhanced DBS check (£56 cost unless already on the update service).
- Experience managing non‑teaching functions within an educational setting.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Management Information Systems (MIS).
- Knowledge of GDPR and data protection requirements.
