School Caretaker (Site Assistant) – Part-time

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Site Assistant to support the day‑to‑day operation of a school in Enfield. The role focuses on maintaining a safe, clean and well‑functioning environment for staff and pupils.

Key responsibilities

• Secure the premises at the end of each day by locking doors, closing windows and activating alarms.
• Collect litter and keep the school grounds tidy.
• Perform basic grounds and building maintenance such as gardening, painting and minor repairs.
• Restock toilet supplies and ensure hygiene standards are met.
• Manage primary‑section gate duties, opening and closing gates at the required times.
• Respond to additional reasonable requests related to site upkeep.

Required profile

• Proven experience in facility or site maintenance.
• Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Physical ability to perform manual tasks and stand for long periods.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize work.
• Team‑oriented yet capable of working independently.
• Clear enhanced DBS check is essential.
