School Immunisation Nurse Coordinator

About the role

The School Immunisation Nurse Coordinator will lead a team of registered nurses and healthcare support workers to deliver national public health immunisation programmes for school‑aged children across Greater Glasgow and Clyde and partner HSCP areas. This is a part‑time permanent position based at the Vale Centre for Health, working a shift pattern of Monday‑Thursday 08:30‑16:30 and Friday 08:30‑15:00, with annualised hours covering 35 weeks from August to April.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate, lead and manage the school immunisation team across four service areas.
• Plan, implement and evaluate immunisation programmes in line with national policy and local public‑health strategies.
• Collaborate with education authorities, community partners, health‑improvement staff and other agencies to ensure safe programme delivery.
• Supervise nursing staff and support workers, ensuring compliance with clinical standards.
• Report on programme outcomes and contribute to public‑health objectives.

Required profile

• Current, active NMC UK PIN.
• PVG Scheme membership and successful Disclosure Scotland check.
• Eligibility to work in the UK and meet Home Office sponsorship criteria if required.
• Willingness to work across Renfrew & Inverclyde, East Renfrewshire & South Glasgow, North East Glasgow & East Dunbartonshire, and North West Glasgow & West Dunbartonshire areas.
