About the role
Academics is building a pool of qualified Science Teachers for secondary schools in Southampton, with placements expected from September 2026. The role involves delivering engaging, high‑quality science lessons to mixed‑ability learners across Key Stages 3 and 4, with occasional opportunities at Key Stage 5.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver inclusive science lessons covering Biology, Chemistry, Physics or General Science.
- Assess and support student progress across KS3‑KS4 (and KS5 where applicable).
- Contribute to department meetings, curriculum development and whole‑school initiatives.
- Maintain a safe and stimulating classroom environment.
Required profile
- Qualified Science Teacher (QTS or equivalent).
- Strong subject knowledge in at least one science specialism.
- Commitment to inclusive, engaging teaching practices.
- Willingness to participate in wider school community activities.
