Secondary Cover Teacher (Flexible School Cover)

About the role

Reed Education is seeking qualified secondary teachers to provide short‑term and long‑term cover across schools in Sussex for the 2023‑2024 academic year. The role is flexible, allowing you to work in a variety of settings while supporting pupils and staff during teacher absences.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver planned lessons across a range of subjects, including Maths, English, Science, Humanities, PE and Modern Foreign Languages.
• Maintain classroom discipline and uphold positive behaviour expectations.
• Communicate effectively with class teachers and senior leadership teams regarding pupil progress and any issues.
• Adapt quickly to different school environments and timetables.

Required profile

• Qualified teaching status (or equivalent) and the right to work in the UK.
• Current DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Flexibility to work in multiple schools and an open‑minded approach to daily school life.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.

• Subject‑specific teaching expertise in secondary education.
• Ability to cover lessons across various disciplines as needed.
