Secondary Physical Education Teacher – Flexible Supply Roles

About the role
Academics is seeking an energetic Secondary Physical Education Teacher to provide daily supply, short‑term and long‑term cover across secondary schools in Chester. The role starts in September and offers the chance to work in a variety of school environments while delivering inclusive PE lessons.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, covering core PE and GCSE/BTEC sport theory where required.
- Provide flexible cover for daily, short‑term sickness or planned long‑term block placements.
- Adapt activities to support students of all abilities, promoting physical literacy and teamwork.
- Support or lead after‑school sports clubs, fixtures and school tournaments during longer assignments.
Required profile
- Degree in Sports Science, Physical Education or a related discipline.
- UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Early Career Teacher status.
- Experience teaching the UK secondary PE curriculum.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) and ability to commute within Chester.
