Secondary School History Teacher (Full‑time)

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑rated secondary school in Brentwood, Essex, to recruit a qualified History Teacher for the September 2026 intake. The role is full‑time, Monday‑Friday, delivering engaging History lessons to students aged 11‑16 across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver differentiated History lessons that inspire curiosity and critical thinking.
• Assess, monitor and record student progress, providing timely feedback.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners.
• Collaborate with the Humanities department on curriculum development and enrichment activities, including educational visits.
• Contribute to intervention programmes and extracurricular clubs where appropriate.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in England.
• A degree in History or a closely related subject.
• Proven experience teaching History at KS3 and KS4 in a secondary setting.
• Strong classroom management and organisational abilities.
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).

Required skills

• Subject‑specific knowledge of British and World History curricula.
