Secondary Sensory Teacher

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Secondary Sensory Teacher to join our specialist SEN school in Chiswick. The role starts in September and offers the chance to work with secondary‑aged students who have complex learning needs, autism and sensory processing differences.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver personalised, sensory‑based lessons that meet each pupil’s educational and developmental goals.
• Use a variety of sensory resources, communication strategies and practical activities to support learning.
• Assess student progress, maintain accurate records and adapt teaching approaches as needed.
• Create a calm, structured and engaging classroom environment.
• Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, therapists and families to ensure consistent support.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching secondary‑aged students, preferably within an SEN setting.
• Knowledge of autism, complex learning needs or sensory learning is desirable.
• Strong classroom management and communication abilities.
• Positive, adaptable attitude towards specialist education.
