Semi Senior Accountant – Accountancy Practice

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail‑oriented Semi Senior Accountant to join our growing practice. The successful candidate will work towards an ACA or ACCA qualification while handling a diverse portfolio of clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare year‑end accounts under FRS 102 and FRS 105 for various entities.
• Maintain bookkeeping, produce management accounts and file VAT returns for assigned clients.
• Process monthly payrolls, including RTI submissions and auto‑enrolment.
• Assist clients with Making Tax Digital‑compliant software and cloud‑based platforms.
• Support onboarding of new clients, manage client communications and resolve queries.
• Help prepare personal and corporate tax returns and provide ad‑hoc reporting support to senior team members.

Required profile

• Studying towards ACA, ACCA or AAT qualification.
• Minimum three years’ experience in an accountancy practice.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence when dealing with clients.

Required skills

• FRS 102 and FRS 105 accounting standards.
• VAT return preparation and filing.
• Payroll processing (RTI, auto‑enrolment).
• MTD‑compliant software and cloud accounting platforms.
