Semi Senior Accountant

About the role

This is an excellent opportunity to join an expanding accountancy practice based in Barnsley. Key responsibilities

• Client bookkeeping and preparation of company and partnership accounts
• Production of financial statements and interim management accounts
• Preparation of personal tax returns and quarterly VAT returns
• Assistance with client portfolio management and support for apprentice training

Required profile

• 2–3 years’ experience in an accountancy practice with strong knowledge of accounts and tax processes
• Proficiency with accounting software such as Sage 50, Xero, QuickBooks, IRIS, MyWorkPapers or BrightPay
• Excellent attention to detail, time‑management and organisational abilities
• Effective verbal and written communication with clients and a professional telephone manner
• Studying towards AAT, holding a relevant degree or working towards ACA/ACCA qualification
