Semi‑Senior Audit & Accounts Assistant (Part‑Qualified)

About the role

We are seeking a Part‑Qualified ACA/ACCA Audit & Accounts Assistant / Semi‑Senior to join a fast‑growing Top20 accountancy practice in North London. Reporting to an Audit Manager, you will work on a variety of audit assignments across multiple sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Work on a variety of smaller audit assignments across multiple industry sectors, liaising with managers and partners as required.
• Prepare basic audit files, undertake audit planning and lead/assist junior staff with fieldwork.
• Ensure audit assignments are completed to a high standard, on time and within agreed budgets.
• Supervise and review work completed by junior and graduate team members.
• Use accounting software to provide accurate reporting for managers, directors and clients.
• Prepare basic monthly and quarterly management accounts for sole traders, limited companies and partnerships.
• Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts under the supervision of the Client Manager.
• Complete working papers, including bank reconciliations, other reconciliations and manual control accounts.
• Maintain up‑to‑date technical knowledge of industry and national economic issues.
• Provide input to new service and product pricing and assist with new client quotes.

Required profile

• Part‑Qualified ACA or ACCA accountant with at least 2 years of external audit and accounts experience in small‑ to medium‑sized corporate businesses.
• Experience working in a team environment on multiple audit clients, building client relationships and meeting strict audit deadlines.
• Ability to balance approximately 70 % audit work and 30 % accounts work.
