SEN Class Teacher (SEMH) – Full‑time Permanent

About the role
Prospero Teaching is supporting a specialist SEMH school in Chichester, providing education for pupils aged 7‑16 with social, emotional and mental health needs. The school seeks a compassionate SEN Class Teacher to lead a small, well‑supported class from September 2026, delivering a highly personalised, trauma‑informed curriculum.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver an adapted, differentiated curriculum aligned with pupils' EHCP outcomes.
- Create resources that support communication, emotional regulation and engagement.
- Foster wellbeing, resilience and social development through consistent routines and nurturing relationships.
- Collaborate with therapists, behaviour specialists, support staff and families to provide holistic support.
- Promote positive behaviour and self‑esteem using trauma‑informed and relational approaches.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching pupils with SEND, preferably SEMH, autism or complex behavioural needs.
- Strong understanding of trauma‑informed practice and emotional regulation strategies.
- Ability to support additional needs such as ADHD, attachment difficulties or communication delay.
- Creative, resilient and child‑centred approach.
Required skills
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
