SEN English Teacher (Temporary, Full‑time)

About the role
Hays Education is recruiting a dedicated SEN English Teacher for a special‑needs school in south Birmingham. The role starts in September 2026 and will run for the autumn term while the school searches for a permanent appointment.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and assess the English curriculum up to GCSE level for KS3 and KS4 pupils.
- Teach classes of 5‑15 students, many of whom have social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges and ADHD.
- Work closely with a Teaching Assistant to support individual learning needs.
- Maintain accurate records and produce assessments in line with school policies.
Required profile
- Experience teaching children with SEMH and ADHD.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Ability to use de‑escalation techniques and demonstrate key competencies for working with vulnerable learners.
- Recent satisfactory references confirming relevant experience.

- Competitive daily rate of £170‑£250 paid on a weekly timesheet (MPS + SEN point).
