SEN Maths Teacher – Specialist Day School

About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teacher of Maths to join Waterloo Lodge School, a specialist day school for pupils aged 11‑18 with autism, learning difficulties and complex needs. The role is full‑time, term‑time only, and starts in September 2026.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, high‑quality maths lessons tailored to individual SEND needs.
- Plan, adapt and differentiate curriculum to support pupils with autism and complex needs.
- Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress, using data to inform teaching.
- Contribute to the development of an innovative maths curriculum.
- Promote confidence, independence and wellbeing in learners.
- Collaborate with therapists, support staff and colleagues to provide personalised learning.
- Teach across other curriculum areas when required and support off‑site educational activities.
- Create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS); strong mathematics knowledge (desired).
- Passion for supporting children with autism, learning difficulties and complex needs.
- Creative, adaptable and committed to personalised learning.
- Confident communicator who works well in a multidisciplinary team.
- Skilled in assessing progress and adjusting teaching accordingly.
- Positive, resilient and dedicated to continuous professional development.
Required skills
What we offer
- Salary from £39,000 per annum (depending on experience).
- Permanent, term‑time only contract.
- 40‑hour week, Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am‑4:30 pm.
