SEN Secondary Teacher – Full‑Time (Bedford)

About the role

Academics is seeking an experienced SEN Secondary Teacher to join a specialist school in Bedford from September 2026. This full‑time, long‑term contract offers the chance to work with secondary‑aged pupils who have a range of additional needs in a supportive, small‑class environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Create a positive, structured, and nurturing classroom atmosphere.
• Support pupils to achieve academic and personal goals.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and the leadership team.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and external professionals.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience working with pupils with SEN in specialist or mainstream settings.
• Excellent behaviour management and communication abilities.
• Patient, resilient, adaptable, and passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
