About the role
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a newly opening specialist school in St Albans. The role starts in September and focuses on children aged 4 to 13 with autism, speech, language and communication needs, developmental delay, and social development difficulties. You will work within a supportive team to create an outstanding learning environment.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual pupil needs.
- Create personalised learning opportunities for pupils with autism and additional needs.
- Support communication development and foster independence.
- Collaborate closely with teaching assistants and therapists.
- Monitor pupil progress, celebrate achievements and adjust strategies as required.
- Build strong relationships with pupils, families and the wider school community.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching children with SEND, particularly autism.
- Understanding of communication and social development needs.
- Creative, patient and ambitious approach to pupil outcomes.
- Desire to make a difference in a brand‑new school setting.
