SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Full‑time, Day Rate)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary classroom in North Bristol. Working closely with the class teacher, you will help pupils with a range of additional needs access the curriculum, build confidence and thrive in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for children with Autism, ADHD, speech and language, cognition, learning difficulties and SEMH needs.
• Adapt learning activities to suit individual styles and abilities.
• Encourage independence, positive social interaction and emotional regulation.
• Collaborate with the teacher, SENDCo and support staff to implement personalised support plans.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere where every child feels valued.

Required profile

• Experience working with children in schools, nurseries, care settings or similar.
• Passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
• Patient, nurturing and able to build strong relationships.
• Proactive, flexible and a strong team player.
• Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS and right to work in the UK.
