SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary Schools in Richmond upon Thames

About the role
We are recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs in mainstream primary schools across Richmond upon Thames. The role starts in September 2026 and offers a daily rate of £90‑£110, dependent on experience. You will work closely with teachers and SENCOs to create an inclusive learning environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with SEN (e.g., ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs).
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
- Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development.
- Promote positive behaviour and a supportive learning atmosphere.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff.
Required profile
- Experience working with children with SEN.
- Patient, proactive and nurturing attitude.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs.
- Holder of a DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
Required skills
- No specific technical skills required.
