SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary Schools (Richmond upon Thames)

About the role

This full‑time, fixed‑term position offers the chance to work within mainstream primary schools in Richmond upon Thames, supporting pupils with special educational needs. You will join a welcoming, high‑achieving school community and help create an inclusive learning environment for children with additional needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with SEN (e.g., ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs).
• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, inclusive lessons.
• Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development.
• Promote positive behaviour and a supportive learning atmosphere.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff.

Required profile

• Experience working with children who have SEN.
• Patient, proactive and nurturing attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs.
• Holder of a DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
